Peruvian fishery company CFG Investment S.A.C. completed an issuance of senior notes due 2019 of up to US$ 300 million. Such issuance has been completely placed outside Peru, being listed in the Singapore Exchange (SGX). The offering was also done to Qualified Institutional Buyers under Rule 144A. (July 2012)

We have obtained the VAT reduction originally determined by SUNAT in exports for mineral concentrates through a resolution that we have been notified in November. The sentence issued by the Civil Court has been appealed by SUNAT. This kind of taxation affects to several mining companies. (November 2012)
Our firm advised Laive S.A. on the accusation for illegal purchases of sugar to unauthorized employees of a provider. Our firm proved with the respective invoices that this purchase was made directly to the company that owns the sugar.
The firm advised the client in the arbitration process filed by DAIMI PERU S.A.C. in which the plaintiff claimed an indemnity for damages of US$ 12 million approximately. The client filed a counterclaim in order for the arbitration panel to declare that certain contracts were terminated according to law and letters of credit were correctly foreclosed.
García Sayán Abogados implemented the Economic Criminal Law Practice Area led by partner Mr. Diego Calmet in 2012. The area provides legal advice in the field of criminal law, issues related to economic, environmental and patrimony crimes, among other offenses under the Criminal Code. Mr. Calderon is a lawyer graduated from Universidad San Martin de Porres (1998), he has a Masters degree in Criminal Law from the Universidad Federico Villareal, Post-graduate at ESAN and the California Western School of Law - San Diego, he speaks English and is a member of the Bar Association of Lima.Arturo Trelles specializes in labor law. His experience includes recruitment of national and foreign workers; labor costs planning, labor audits, defense in process and business consultancy. Raúl Aranda specializes in Civil Law, Civil Procedure and Administrative Law. Nancy Ogata specializes in mining, environment, commercial and civil law. She has been lawyer in the Legal Division at Deloitte & Touche Peru and at Corporación Minera Centauro S.A.C. Miss Ogata has special expertise on assessment the structure of investment projects and in the negotiation and drafting of all types of contracts related to the exploration and mining activity; in agreements negotiation rural communities and had participations in privatization processes and electricity concessions, as well as advising on issues related to the finance of investment projects in the sector. Miss Ogata graduated with honors from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (2004).
Adriana Tagle is an expert in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. She has a vast experience advising domestic and foreign companies as well as individuals, in strategy development and evaluation of a criminal prosecution. She has worked as an attorney at Azabache Caracciolo and Jorge Avendaño, Forsyth & Arbe, in the area of criminal law with incidence in economic fields. Miss Tagle is a lawyer graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2004). She also has post graduate studies in Criminal Risk in business decisions from the Escuela de Post Grado de la UPC and a Master Degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the Universidad de Barcelona in convention with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2008). She speaks English and is member of the Lima Bar Association.
Alberto Limo is a lawyer specialized in Environmental Law. Graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru Law School (2003) with a thesis related to environmental taxes. He is experienced in international and national public and private entities of Environmental Management and Natural Resources. Mr. Limo was responsible of PROTERRA NGO Environmental Law and Sustainable Development Program and carried out supporting and researching tasks for the National Environmental Council (CONAM), Global Mechanism to Combat Desertification and Drought Mitigation of United Nations. In 2008, he was Social - Environmental Coordinator of Rio Tinto Minera Peru Limitada S.A.C. Afterwards, he was a specialist of the General Direction of Climate Change, Desertification and Water Resources of the Ministry of Environment.
From 2006 to 2007, he obtained the post-graduate Diploma in Natural Resources Law at the Lima University, and took several courses, one of the most important being "Basics Elements of Local and Regional Development" from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations (2012).
